Alexandria Washington

DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS: Alexandria Washington has been working in Kansas City theatre for the past 7 years.  She moved from Omaha, NE to Overland Park, KS with her family in 2001 and attended Saint Thomas Aquinas High School.  Graduating from Avila University in 2009 with a B.F.A in Acting she enjoyed playing the roles of Angel in Marisol, Mother in Barefoot in the Park, and Steele in Piece of My Heart to name a few.  Her professional theatre debut was with Theatre for Young America in 2007 performing Harriet Tubman, In the Footsteps of Freedom and she performed in the show again in a 2014 production!  She has also worked at The MET, The MeltingPot KC, and The Fishtank.  Alexandria has performed in many shows with Theatre for Young America including her favorites Junie B. Jones, Anansi the Spider, Bully Bot the Robot and the Gang of Geeks, and Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.   Alexandria has also volunteered at a few TYA summer camps!  Alexandria graduated with her master’s degree in Organization Development in the fall of 2013.  She is thrilled and honored to be a part of Theatre for Young America’s staff.
